Prime-time TV personality Nick Knowles is the final speaker to be confirmed for the BMF All-Industry Conference in Dubrovnik in June.
For many, Knowles is the face of construction on TV. While boasting no skills of his own, he presents one of the nation’s best-loved transformation programmes where trades come together to create a new or renovated building that dramatically improves the lives of its occupants. The show’s popularity is in no small part due to the many local trades that volunteer their skills and time for free on each job, and to the merchants and building material suppliers who regularly offer support. Knowles always stresses that the show would not be possible without them.
Over the past twelve years, Knowles has not only been seen mucking in with the builders, when he is suited and booted he regularly hosts Saturday night quiz shows for BBC1. In 2017, he presented a documentary following a group of ten unlikely runners living with or affected by different mental health issues as they trained for the ultimate test of mind over matter, the London marathon. In 2018 he appeared in yet another guise, as a contestant in ITV’s I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here winning a new legion of fans.
