MKM Building Supplies has opened the doors to a new branch in Aberdeen, creating 20 jobs.

The branch is the first new builders' merchant to open in the city for over a decade. The 3.2acre site with a 26,000ft2 warehouse is situated in a prime central location at the old Keyline Site on Miller Street.

MKM Aberdeen is designed to be a one-stop shop for a wide range of building essentials, offering timber, sheet materials, joinery products, building materials, roofing, landscaping, electrical and plumbing and heating, as well as kitchen and bathroom showrooms with free delivery for the city and shire.

The branch also offers a range of services including roofing take offs and 3D design services for kitchens.

The outlet is part of the MKM's ambitious expansion plans, which have taken on significant momentum over the past few years. Fast-growing MKM has added 15 new branches to its network in just over two years making Aberdeen the 65th branch, with three more openings planned this year.

MKM Aberdeen Branch Director, Grant Hay, is enthusiastic: "It is fantastic to be opening the city's first new builders' merchants in over ten years - the new team has worked incredibly hard to create an exceptional customer experience and we look forward to welcoming local people and businesses in the coming weeks. We have created a relaxed and friendly environment - complete with free Wi-Fi and complimentary hot drinks."

David Kilburn, Executive Chairman commented: "Our new branch in Aberdeen offers an exciting opportunity for MKM, the Scottish building industry is buoyant and offers a solid business proposition."
