LEICESTER: Evo-Stik has become the first company within the building sector to develop an Apple iPhone application offering tradesmen and DIY-ers product information and stockist details.
The free app enables consumers to select their favourite product for a job via an interactive carousel or by browsing a range of categories. It then uses GPS to plot their exact location and find their nearest stockist of selected products on a map via a quick store finder.
Products and stockists can be bookmarked so that they can be referred to quickly again in the future.
Jon Griffiths, product manager for Evo-Stik, commented: “The use of such technology within the building trade and DIY sectors is a market first and demonstrates Evo-Stik’s continued commitment to driving innovation. This solutions-based approach will help simplify the purchasing process for consumers making it accessible from home, the building site or when in store.”
The iPhone application will be promoted on pack across a number of core high volume Evo-Stik products.
