CAERPHILLY: Nuaire has become the first ventilation manufacturer in the UK to achieve the Carbon Trust Standard, an award for organisations that can provide evidence of measuring, manufacturing and reducing their carbon footprint against the strictest criteria.
The company has been working in partnership with the Carbon Trust for the past five years to significantly reduce the environmental impact of its sites and supply chain. It is committed to regular environmental audits to ensure it continues to achieve the highest possible standards, measuring, monitoring and reducing its energy usage, targeting CO2 reduction and providing new targets for sustainability.
The company has gone on to obtain Green Dragon Level 5 as well as ISO 14001 accreditation. It has consistently reduced its energy use by 2.5% year on year, has achieved a reduction of over 16% in energy use (KwH) since 2007 and a 20% reduction in waste to landfill in just twelve months.
