Staff at Kohler Mira have beaten a target of raising £20,000 by 1 July for the Leukaemia & Intensive Chemotherapy charity (LINC). Kohler Mira had pledged to match the funds raised by its staff, bringing the total to an impressive £41,000.

LINC works to improve the care of cancer patients and their families around Gloucestershire, Herefordshire and Worcestershire. Dr Gill Rouse, LINC director and co-founder, was presented with a cheque by Kohler Mira’s managing director Dave Hill and the company’s charity coordinator Kat Griffiths at a special benefit event at the end of June.

“Everyone has made a huge effort with all types of events being held, like the charity ball, static bike ride, raffles, golf days and cake sales,” said Ms Griffiths.

In one event, more than 70 Kohler Mira employees rode static bikes over the equivalent of 164km – the distance from Cheltenham to the Olympic Velodrome – and raised over £1,100, while the walk in memory of former employee Phil Tuckwell from his hometown Northleach to the Cromwell Road headquarters raised more than £1,400.
