A team of 22 from Keyline Builders Merchants has raised nearly £10,000 for Prostate Cancer UK after taking on the famous North Yorkshire Lyke Wake Walk.

The huge charity challenge was faced on Friday 5 July 2013 with surprisingly good weather conditions boding well for the team. The first nine miles were completed in four hours, but due to unforeseen circumstances, the group faced a 14-mile stage across the toughest part of the moors carrying their additional supplies and with no track to follow. One member of the team battled on despite a damaged ankle.

Allan Wright, Keyline regional director for the North East and team member, said: “This was a monumental task for the entire team; exhausted bodies, sore feet and tired minds couldn’t deter from the amazing sense of personal achievement we felt crossing that finish line.

“Thank you to everyone for taking part and for all of the support we received in raising such a fantastic total.”
