Garstang Timber & Building Supplies, part of the GE Robinson group, has launched a brand new service treatment operation for high-pressure treated timbers aimed at timber merchants, building contractors and local authorities throughout the north-west of England.

The new treatment vessel, designed and supplied by Lonza Wood Protection, will use next generation TANALITH E wood preservative, with a TANATONE brown colour option where required, for the long-term protection of building, fencing and landscaping timbers. The treatment facility also incorporates the very latest Auto-Treater treatment plant management software, which helps provides appropriate and consistent levels of preservative treatment.

Simon Walling, branch manager of Garstang Timber & Building Supplies, said: “The new £300,000 investment will give the timber trade an efficient and cost-effective service treatment option in the north-west region. To support the facility we have also invested in a brand new 26-tonne vehicle with integral crane off-load to ensure we can make quick and professional deliveries to our customers, or direct to site if required.”
