Sustainable Building Solutions (SBS), part of the Travis Perkins Group, has chosen NICEIC as its certification body of choice, completing its Green Deal offering which already included product solutions, advisor and installer membership, technical guides and training.

The relationship with NICEIC, the voluntary regulation body for the electrical contracting industry, will bolster the current service and provide a clear route for installers and advisors to become Green Deal approved.

It will also make life much easier for customers who can simply visit any Travis Perkins, CPS, PTS, CCF, or Keyline branch to progress, while payment is simply made through their existing trade account; effectively providing access to a complete solution which includes mentoring, training, membership, products, and now certification.

Paul Joyner, group director of sustainability, said: “The Travis Perkins Group can now offer a complete package for customers who want to take advantage of the Green Deal, the Renewable Heat Incentive or Feed-in Tariff. With over 50 years of experience in providing certification to the trade, NICEIC was the ideal choice for us to work with and improve our service offering.”

Emma Clancy, chief executive officer of NICEIC, added: “NICEIC is delighted to work with the Travis Perkins Group on this wholesale solution which will make it easier for firms to enter the Green Deal and ECO market.

“It will ensure that tradespeople with the appropriate skills and knowledge to install energy saving measures will have everything they need to benefit from the Green Deal.”
