Tom Devlin, regional commercial manager at Jewson, has raised over £200 for Barnardo’s by completing Tough Mudder, in Edinburgh.

With 18 obstacles over 12 excruciating miles, including a mud mile, walking the plank and trudging through icy waters, Mr Devlin managed to complete the challenge in two hours and one minute, and only sustaining minor cuts and bruises on his knees and elbows.

Mr Devlin said: “My training prepared me for most of the course but the 10,000 volt electric shocks were something else. Thank you to everyone who has sponsored me, your support really is appreciated.”

In 2002 Jewson and its sister brands, launched the ‘together’ charity programme, which has raised over £2m for some great causes including the British Heart Foundation, Great Ormond Street, Cancer Research UK and Help the Hospices. Barnardo’s has been Jewon’s ‘together’ charity partner for the past two years.
