Uponor has been recognised for its outstanding training and development support by Graham Plumbers’ Merchant.

The manufacturer of plumbing and indoor climate systems was awarded the ‘Supplier of the Year - Contribution to The Knowledge Award’, at the Graham Plumbers’ Merchant annual conference.

The two-day event brought together more than 40 plumbing and heating suppliers from across the UK together with over 300 Graham branch managers and senior managers.

Graham staff were asked to rate suppliers for online and in-branch training, as well as speed of responses to technical enquiries. Following a unanimous decision Uponor was presented with the prestigious title.

Dan Williams, Graham category director, said: “Uponor has been category leader for underfloor heating since January 2013. During that time the company has gone above and beyond to ensure our staff have all the information needed to promote our underfloor heating offering. This has resulted in significant sales growth since the start of the year.

“From undertaking in-branch training and providing branch manager packs right through to setting up and staffing a dedicated helpline and email address, Uponor has done everything it can to help us grow our underfloor heating sales.”

Michelle Wright, group key account manager for Saint Gobain at Uponor, said: “We understand the importance of providing our merchant partners with all the information they need, to ensure staff members can talk with confidence about our products, ask the right questions in order to quote and ultimately provide the best possible service for customers.

As a result, we’ve seen a direct increase in quote levels and sales conversions at branch level. The fact that Graham has decided to recognise us in this way is a huge honour and we look forward to continuing to work closely with them in the coming years.”
