A new technical sales manager, a specification manager and six new area business managers have joined Viessmann in recent months.

The manufacturer of heating systems has made a number of new appointments going into 2014 as part of the company’s growing commitment to the UK heating industry.

Ian Hurst has been appointed as technical sales manager for the commercial projects division, bringing over 25 years of contracting industry experience to the company. His role at Viessmann involves working with the area business managers (ABMs) as a consultant on large scale orders, and commissioning on all technical aspects of the projects. Mr Hurst previously worked at Aston Cord Energy Services as operations director.

As part of the new Viessmann specification team, there is also to be a new specification manager for the Northern region, as Martyn Lockwood takes to the helm, following over 20 years in the heating sector. Most recently he had been in a specification role at Kohler Mira.

Experience is a recurring theme across the new appointments: Giles Meredith brings 16 years in the industry to his new position as an ABM for renewables. Formerly a Jewson employee, Mr Meredith will be working in the South West region, covering heat pumps, solar thermal and PV.

Rob Longhorn has been appointed to the commercial sales team, and will be handling projects in the Central and East Midlands and South Wales, consisting of wall-mounted and floor standing gas and oil boilers, as well as biomass developments.

There are also four new domestic market ABMs, who will be focussing on sales of Viessmann’s Vitodens boiler range. Viessmann is pleased to welcome Dominic Tuff, who was previously an area sales manager at Baxi, to the Kent, Sussex and East Surrey region. Matt Beales is another - he joins Viessmann from Firebird. Phil Jones and Richard Sterry are Viessmann’s other new employees, both of whom bring decades of industry experience to the company, and expand the reach of the domestic sales team.
