Last month, Wolseley UK put its Christmas card budget towards a deserving cause and made a £5,000 donation to children’s charity Action for Children.
Across the country, thousands of children are suffering because of poverty, alcohol dependency, domestic violence and family breakdown. Wolseley UK decided to make its donation at a time of year when many children can become even more lonely and vulnerable.
Vanessa French, general counsel at Wolseley UK, organised the donation. She said: “Every year, companies of all sizes spend sizeable amounts on corporate Christmas cards. This year we decided to take this money and give it a real purpose. Lots of our customers and suppliers have commented on what a great way this is to support a charitable cause.
“Action for Children is a very worthy charity, with which we have had a long-standing relationship. We are proud to be donating towards the work they do to tackle issues such as child neglect and abuse.”
