Concrete and paving manufacturer Kilsaran International has set up a brand new division to specialise in the external wall insulation market.

This will break new ground for the company as it enters into the walling sector. An authorised supplier of the global Ceresit-branded EWI systems and mortars in the UK, the division will make its debut at this year’s Ecobuild.

Kilsaran is primarily targeting social housing architects and specialist developers with this range to aid in renovation and refurbishment, to achieve improvements in the thermal efficiencies, durability and aesthetics of a building or home. Social housing, both low- and high-rise, is expected to become the company’s largest market for the Ceresit ranges.

“We are the official authorised partners in the UK representing this excellent brand,” said Derry McKeown, director at Kilsaran International. “Well established in Europe and Ireland, we saw the opportunity to bring the Ceresit EWI products to our UK customers, from an established company they can trust.

“Improving the energy efficiency of 26m households in Britain is a major challenge for government, for the construction sector and the insulation industry. Insulating houses externally using systems like Ceretherm Ceresit – which we are introducing to the UK market at Ecobuild – helps reduce household energy costs, transforms the quality of old housing stock and contributes to the country’s carbon emission reduction targets.”

Mr McKeown continued: “We are supporting this new venture with the appointment of Alan Hodge in the role of sales director for the Ceresit arm of the company. Alan is very well respected as a leading expert in the construction and EWI industry, with decades of extensive experience in all things construction, most recently at Saint-Gobain Weber and before that the Eglinton Stone Group. He is responsible for EWI sales as well as specialist, technical mortars and bagged products.”
