Two employees have returned from ‘Exercise Midland Leader’ at Gamecock Barracks, Nuneaton, following an invitation from their managing director, Tudor Griffiths of TG Group.

Matt Nicholls, a supervisor at TG Builders Merchants in Ellesmere, and Nick Arterton, who works in the Nantwich branch as a counter sales assistant, joined 13 other young executives and 34 army reservists to gain some valuable personal leadership skills.

Mr Nicholls said: “I really enjoyed the three days. It was tough and demanding but I feel I have learned a lot and I would recommend others to try it if they get the opportunity.”

Mr Arterton added: “I didn’t know what to expect, but it was interesting to compare us civilians with the reservists. We had different perspectives but it was a great experience both physically and mentally.”

Mr Griffiths said: “I’m a strong supporter of the Army Reserve and was delighted when Matt and Nick stepped forward to test themselves in this way. I’m sure they – nd our company – will benefit from the weekend, and that it will live in their memories for a long time.”
