Britain’s ‘strongest man’ Eddy Hall is to join RGB Building Supplies at this month’s Toolfair event, to help launch a new awards scheme for RGB’s customers.

The event will be held at Exeter’s Westpoint Arena on 24 and 25 April, and Mr Hall will be signing autographs at the RGB stand on both days between 10am and 4pm.

RGB’s ‘Well Built Stamp of Excellence Awards’ aim to recognise the excellent work done by skilled and honest tradespeople. Customers will be able to pick up a Well Built Stamp of Excellence form from the stand at Toolfair or any RGB branch and hand it to their clients to fill in once a job has been completed. The clients will be asked to rate the tradesperson on things such as quality of work, quality of products used and timescale.

The form will then be displayed in a ‘Book of Excellence’ in RGB branches. One customer each month will be chosen to receive a Well Built Stamp of Excellence certificate for receiving a particularly impressive testimonial.

“As a company that was founded over 150 years ago, we are fully aware of the importance of doing things well, and this is something that we know our customers also believe in,” said Kevin Fenlon, chief executive of RGB Building Supplies. “There are some fantastic tradesmen and women across Devon, Cornwall and Somerset, and our Well Built Stamp of Excellence Awards will celebrate them.

“We are delighted that Eddy Hall will be joining us at Toolfair to help launch the awards. He’s definitely someone you can’t fail to miss and we are certain that a number of people will want to meet him.

“As an added bonus, the RGB Book of Excellence will act as a free advertising tool for our customers, as we would like to encourage members of the communities local to our branches who are looking for a builder, plumber or decorator to look at the testimonials to help them make a selection.”
