Hull City Tigers have had a great first season back in the top tier of English football. They've comfortably secured their place in the Premier League, and have a chance to bring home some silverware when they head to Wembley for the FA Cup Final on 17 May.

But captain Curtis Davies and midfielder David Meyler took some time after training to go head-to-head in the Ideal Boilers Challenge.

The Ideal challenge comprises two identical Logic+ boilers set up side-by-side, and the competitors race to strip the boiler down in the fastest possible time, to make it ready for servicing.

Many installers have put their speed to the test, with the best time recorded at 13.44 seconds.

So how did the Tigers’ Player of the Year Mr Davies, and Republic of Ireland international Mr Meyler do when they picked up the tools? You can see the video on Ideal’s YouTube page: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YbuEfHFkdEA.

“It was great to have the Hull City players take part,” said Ideal’s head of marketing Carrie Young. “They really threw themselves into it and enjoyed the challenge, and as you would expect, both wanted to win.

“I won’t give anything away but the result might be surprising, so it’s definitely worth watching the video.

“The challenge is designed to be fun, but it also demonstrates how quick and simple it is to work on the Logic+ range of boilers from Ideal, as all the components are so easily accessible. The players did well for their first ever go, but it’s bread-and-butter work for installers.”
