A team of 10 employees from Mira Showers recently completed the infamous Three Peaks Challenge: conquering Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon back-to-back.
The experience not only proved to be challenging for the team, but also rewarding – it raised over £10,000 for CLIC Sargent, a cancer charity for children and young people, and their families.
The team all completed the challenge in just over 24 hours, during which they experienced a mixture of sunny skies over Ben Nevis, rain and 40mph winds on Scafell Pike and looming clouds over Snowdon. During the event the team climbed around 10,000 feet and hiked 25 miles – all with little or no sleep between peaks.
Tom Rastall, marketing manager, who organised the event for the company, said: “It was a tough event to take on, but thankfully the training and good team spirits helped us all complete the Three Peaks together. More importantly, the fantastic support we received has raised lots of money for CLIC Sargent.”
