Anthony McDonagh, area sales manager at Thomas Dudley, is taking part in a charity bike ride to raise money for the Royal British Legion.

Along with a fellow area sales manager from the company and around 250 other participants, Mr McDonagh is to travel roughly 430 miles from Dudley to Paris.

The group will set out on Monday 1 September from Thomas Dudley's head office to High Wycombe. They will then proceed to London Euston, followed by Calais, Abbeville, Beauvais and will eventually end up in Paris. The final leg of the journey will be a train ride from the French capital back to London.

Mr McDonagh, who has fundraised for the Royal British Legion before, said: "I chose this charity again due to how well the last event was organised, and the good work the charity does for the past and present of war - I have friends in the armed forces."

He added: "It's going to be tough, but I love a challenge."

The target for Mr McDonagh's fundraising effort is £1,500, and donations can be made at www.justgiving.com/Anthony-Mcdonagh.
