The funds raised will be shared equally between Mental Health UK and the Samaritans.

The Builders Merchants Federation raised £5,000 for charity by encouraging members to don their best festive jumpers and join them for a virtual Christmas party last week.

The funds raised will be shared equally between Mental Health UK and the Samaritans, the two charities the BMF has supported throughout the year.

BMF CEO, John Newcomb, said: “I would like to thank everyone who made a donation to support our Christmas Charity Event. The charities we are supporting help to make sure that no-one has to face mental health challenges alone. The impact of Covid-19 has seen demand for the services of these charities increase significantly and their work has been invaluable throughout this turbulent year.”

Virtual guests enjoyed an evening of games, quizzes, celebrity guest appearances and, of course, on-line networking.
