Nominations are being sought for the milestone awards lunch due to take place on 4 February 2022 at the Park Plaza, off Westminster Bridge.
The industry’s longest running awards ceremony will return in February 2022 as a live event to celebrate its 20th anniversary. The event promises to be one of the most spectacular ever for the 800 plus in attendance.
During those two decades, the Builders’ Merchants Awards have built up an unrivalled reputation for recognising the great and good across the builders’ merchant sector.
The Awards offer the perfect opportunity to acknowledge the amazing people, teams, projects and innovations that have helped our industry grow the economy and helped community safety and sustainability.
This year, the Awards will be taking place at a new venue – The Park Plaza on Westminster Bridge - on Friday 4 February 2022.
To show commitment to such a fantastic industry and complete faith in our own ever evolving brand, the BM Awards have already signed up the Park Plaza to be their home for the last Friday in November for 2022/2023/2024. We are delighted to confirm that the 2022 Awards will be on 25 November 2022.
It would not be possible to plan so far ahead without the magnificent support of our partner, the Builders’ Merchant Federation, which has supported the BM Awards for a number of years.
According to BMF CEO, John Newcomb, the BM Awards “recognise organisations that demonstrate excellence in every aspect of their business practice” and “reward those who look to the future by challenging the status quo and develop their business through doing things differently”.
The BM Awards would also not be the success they are without the unwavering support of our sponsors, who strive to ensure individuals and companies across the industry are recognised for their efforts as they go about their work on a daily basis.
Finally, the Awards team would like to thank our judges, a distinguished group of industry representatives from across the merchant sector’s foremost associations, buying groups and federations.
Every year, 12 of the industry’s best known faces use their knowledge and expertise to consider hundreds of nominations before choosing the Award’s finalists and ultimately the winners.
This year the panel will be joined by Tom Parker, the most recent winner of the coveted BM Lifetime Achievement Award, Andrew Williamson, the forthcoming Master of the Worshipful Company of Builders’ Merchants, and Dave Robertson, Managing Director of the IBC, who has more than 35 years’ experience in the construction industry to call on.
A new website has been launched specifically for the 20th anniversary of the Awards. The nomination process has been improved so each nominee now has access over the entry period to their account so changes can be made right up to the closing date.
What about the categories themselves? No business or initiative is too large or too small to make a difference and we have a wide range of awards that demonstrate the depth and breadth of the builders’ merchant sector.
