The decorating merchant will support 125 community organisations and charities across the UK who are going above and beyond in response to the coronavirus outbreak

Dulux Decorator Centre is marking 125 years of service to customers, colleagues and communities with a new initiative to support the nation through its current challenges.

The decorating merchant will support 125 community organisations and charities across the UK who are going above and beyond in response to the coronavirus outbreak.

Since the foundations of the company were laid in 1895 by JP McDougall, when he set up a wall coverings firm in Manchester, people have been at the heart of the business.

Fast forward 125 years and Dulux Decorator Centre is still centred on its customers - and continues to live by the philosophy of building lasting relationships with them and their local communities.

With the anniversary falling as the nation faces its greatest challenge in generations, they want to back decorators to help support their communities and add colour to people’s lives - and are looking to help projects aiming to improve lives during this pandemic across the UK.

Whether it’s a community centre that’s home to a food bank, a school or a charitable organisation doing great work locally, if your organisation needs a fresh coat of paint Dulux Decorator Centre wants to hear about it.

Managing Director John Henderson said: “The community has always been at the heart of everything we do and that’s never been more true than today, during these unprecedented times.

“Across our industry people have been showing their true colours in responding to the challenges of COVID-19 with countless acts of kindness.

“We have seen just what a difference a generous donation can make for a charity centre, local school or park - and we really want to play our part to bring even more colour to projects that are so valuable to people who are struggling at the moment.

“We’re grateful to be able to help in this small way in our anniversary year and I’d urge people to get in touch and nominate a local project.”
