Russell Roof Tiles has become one of the first concrete roof tile manufacturers to adapt to new health and safety standards, ahead of schedule.
The guidelines for ISO 45001 Standard for occupational health and safety were revised by the International Organisation for Standardisation in 2018 to further support businesses in providing a safe working environment for their employees. Companies were given a three-year transitional period and a deadline of March 2021 for implementation, allowing sufficient time to fully adapt to the new requirements.
As part its continued investment in improving staff welfare, Russell Roof Tiles was dedicated to adapting its health and safety systems to meet the new standards as soon as possible. As a result, the roof tile manufacturer managed to achieve its aims in just 18 months, half the time of the transitional period.
This was accomplished through Russell Roof Tiles continually improving its risk management systems, making sure appropriate health and safety procedures were in place and passing regular audits, ensuring a safe working environment.
