James Burrell Builders Merchant has expanded its delivery fleet to 42 vehicles.

The new additions, six new ‘Euro 6’ emission standard vehicles and two new flatbed wagons, will enable for the deliver of about 1400 tonnes of materials per day in total across the North East and Yorkshire. This investment to improve the capability and performance of the company’s follows an investment of £630,000 in 2020.

The company’s entire wagon fleet is now the most environmentally friendly ‘Euro 6’ as they continue to take steps to seriously reduce their carbon footprint. The company have also recently introduced electric forklifts into several of the branches.

James Burrell has held Bronze accreditation from the Fleet Operator Scheme (FORS) for several years, but its sights are now set on the next (Silver) level, which it is actively pursuing for 2021 / 22, with further investment in staff training and transport infrastructure.

It has been a positive start to the year for James Burrell with the company recently announcing that they are set to see a substantial uplift in company turnover, which is expected to exceed £80 million, with further investments in the pipeline.
