Staff from Gibbs & Dandy's Maidenhead branch have donated hundreds of pounds’ worth of toys to disadvantaged children in the town.

The donation, which went towards Maidenhead Foodshare, also included an extra £500 cash to support the charity at Christmas. The children who will receive the toys are either in care, or their families are struggling to make ends meet.

Andy Lorriman, general manager of the Maidenhead branch, said: “The team at Maidenhead recently received £500 from a supplier incentive scheme and they decided to donate the entire sum to this cause.

“What’s better is when we went to buy the toys, the manager of the Smyth’s store in Reading kindly gave us a significant discount, so we received well over £600 worth of toys for just £500.”
