BRISTOL: A local newspaper is naming and shaming suspected criminals on its web site in a 'Badvert Calender'.

"Every day until Christmas Eve, we are publishing CCTV images of wanted men and women suspected of crime in the Bristol area, said the Evening Post website.

Late week the site showed two men who may have committed a burglary at Travis Perkins in Yate on Wednesday, 2 December. They are suspected of using a white van to steal a boiler and roofing felt worth about £5500.

Detective chief inspector Stephen Tunks, of Avon and Somerset police, said: "CCTV is a great tool for the police to help us identify witnesses and offenders when crime has been committed.

"Sometimes we need the public and the media's help to identify the people we need to speak to for help with our investigations.

"We're grateful to the Evening Post for offering this opportunity to ask for the public's help in solving these crimes."
