BILSTON: Mueller Europe, manufacturers of Wednesbury Streamline copper tube, has achieved ISO 14001 accreditation, further enhancing the company’s green credentials.

“As a primary manufacturer with processes starting from pouring molten material right through to delivering finished copper tube, we are delighted to have reached this high level of environmental approval at our first attempt and, incredibly, just eight months after a severe factory fire,” said Mueller Europe managing director Peter Marsh.

The individual responsible for the accreditation process over the past two years is the company’s quality engineering manager, Jeff Rogers. The process began when Mueller Europe was awarded an integrated prevention pollution control permit by the Environment Agency in 2001.

“The development of our environmental management system, leading to ISO 14001, has enabled us to focus on key environmental issues such as waste management, energy conservation, emission reductions and increasing the overall environmental awareness of all employees,” Mr Rogers explained.

The ISO 14001 accreditation now sits alongside the company’s ISO 9001 approval, illustrating the company's pride in the high quality of its products and commitment to the highest environmental standards.
