COVENTRY: Saint-Gobain has been recognised as one of the UK’s leading business to business brands in the 2010 list of Business Superbrands, which identifies and pays tribute to the country’s strongest B2B names.

Now in its eighth year, the UK’s Business Superbrands are chosen by a panel of experts and over 1700 individual business executives from across the UK, who consider thousands of brands from over 50 sectors.

A Superbrand is defined as a business that has established the finest reputation in its field and offers customers significant advantages over its competitors in terms of quality, reliability and distinction.

Peter Hindle MBE, general delegate of Saint-Gobain in the UK, Ireland and South Africa, commented: “We are extremely proud to be recognised as a Superbrand in the UK. This announcement follows Saint-Gobain’s success in achieving a top listing in Management Today’s 50 most admired companies, in which we came a close second in our category, and our new Superbrand status further reinforces our position as an industry leader.”

Of the thousands of brands initially considered, only the top 500 are deemed to be Business Superbrands. Stephen Cheliotis, chairman of the Centre for Brand Analysis, said: “In this economic climate, a powerful brand is more important than ever. The results of this survey are not only interesting, but ultimately useful in understanding the perception the market has of Saint-Gobain.”
