LONDON: Financial commentators said Travis Perkins might consider acquiring some Wolseley business units like Build Center, which Wolseley plans to dispose of.
Travis Perkins had previously indicated it would be interested in consolidating its position by snapping up weaker rivals. Build Center operates more than 200 branches across the UK and has about 1500 employees.
But the business, which has just 5% of the British building supplies market, faces a tough challenge to keep up with the much bigger Travis, which has a market share of about 12.5%.
