HAYES: Conservative party leader, David Cameron visited B&Q's Hayes DIY store in Glencoe Road, last week.
Cameron spoke with customers and staff at the shop before outlining in a 15-minute speech his intentions to reduce the deficit and to scrap Labour plans to increase National Insurance payments.
The Conservatives have pledged to halt the increase for those earning less than £45 000 a year, and this news has received the backing of some of the country's leading business figures.
Ian Cheshire, chief executive Kingfisher, owner of B&Q, was one of 23 chief executives who signed a letter in opposition to the proposals. He attended to greet Cameron.
