LANCASHIRE: Toolstation is planning to open a new site in Blackpool. The holiday resort has been highlighted as a key area for the company as it expands its operations.

Philip MacLauchlan, managing director of Toolstation, said: "Our requirements in Blackpool are quite specific. We need premises of between 4000 and 8000sq ft with car parking and loading facilities.

"New or modern warehouses or trade counters would be ideal and we are happy to consider existing or part complete buildings or developments. We are already in discussion with Blackpool Council over the possibility of opening a business in the resort."

The Bridgewater-based business joins a growing list of tools-for-trade firms, such as Screwfix and Smith Tool Hire, which have set up in the town over the past five years.
