LEAMINGTON SPA: Wolseley plans to open five more kitchen showrooms with most located at Build Center sites across the country.

With studios already open in Bodmin, Porthleven, Swindon, Leicester and Wetherby, two more open this week in Eastbourne and Crawley with five more planned at key locations over the next few weeks.

Most of the displays are being established in Build Centers but all will have a dedicated sales consultant on hand to offer expert advice on every aspect of planning, buying and fitting a kitchen for both trade and non-trade customers.

Customers can choose from a wide range of styles from traditional to contemporary and from a range of established manufacturers for units, worktops and appliances including the very latest items in cutting-edge technology from televisions embedded in worktop splashbacks to taps delivering boiling water for hot drinks.

The planning service is free and customers will receive a computer aided design (CAD) produced to their requirements from the sales consultants, who can also help and advice on fitting.

Sales manager Brian East said: "Setting up showrooms with dedicated consultants has proved amazingly successful. While we initially planned just five or six, demand means we're now looking at double that figure.

"Timing has undoubtedly played a role with more people eating at home and looking to improve rather than move home during the current economic situation but a lot of it is down to how we've re-packaged our kitchen offering by creating in-store showrooms so people can touch and see what's on offer.

"The kitchen is the heart of a home so getting it right is important. That's why we have also taken the decision to employ dedicated kitchen sales consultants."
