LONDON: Members of the British Woodworking Federation (BWF) are set to benefit from grants funded by ConstructionSkills which will allow them to save money when working towards ISO 9001 and Group Chain of Custody certification as well as health and safety audits.

These can be completed through the BWF's Total Support Services which offers members and non-members a range of services to assist them in the development of their businesses. Services on offer through TSS include technical consultancy, product testing and environmental management through ISO 14001.

The BWF grant, available to 20 member companies in at a significantly reduced rate. Dave Campbell, manager of the BWF's Woodworking Industry Training Forum which has secured the grant, said: "After the success of the grant for members in 2008, we have worked hard with ConstructionSkills to secure funding for another round of grants which will save our members money.

"The grant is available to 20 members and represents fantastic value for money. Our calculations show that non-members could save money by joining and taking advantage of the grant on offer, as ISO 9001 and group Chain of Custody certification and health and safety audits can be expensive to undertake for many joinery companies."
