LONDON: B&Q's new trade counter division TradePoint has launched the 'Whistle While You Work' campaign to get Britain's builders whistling.

The new venture has world champion whistler David Morris helping find the nation's best builder's whistle.

Whistling heats are being held within TradePoint at B&Q's Warehouse stores. Tradesmen will be asked by staff if they would like to enter the competition when they visit their local store and staff will judge who they think is the best in six categories: volume, range, creativity, etiquette and tunefulness, plus the infamous builder's wolf whistle.

The best entrants will then compete in the national final to win Britain's Best Whistling Builder, judged by Morris. The final will be held at a London store in June, with the winner taking home a prize worth £1,000.

Ian Herrett, trade director said: "With our TradePoint stores opening up across the country we're meeting builders and tradesmen from Peterborough to Paisley and one thing they all have in common is the ability to purse their lips and belt out a great wolf whistle.

"With David Morris's help we're hoping to find our best whistling builder and add a few new songs to the repertoire of the UK's building community."
