GALASHIELS: A 17-year-old is due to appear in court on Monday after an incident at B&Q.

The teenager is accused of threatening staff of the store with a hammer he had just stolen. Police officers were called to B&Q on Friday afternoon to deal with a report of shoplifting.

They arrested a 17-year-old male from nearby Melrose for allegedly stealing two security cameras and a lump hammer from the displays.
