IRELAND: The 2010 FEST Congress in Dublin on 23-26 September will address "the real issues facing our industry today", said president Sue Knight. "It will also equip us with real tools and insight that we can use to develop our business tomorrow."

The Congress will be opened by Lord Digby Jones, former head of the Confederation of British Industry. As this year's conference moderator, he will discuss the emerging trends that are shaping the way the UK heats and ventilates its domestic and commercial dwellings and what this will mean for the sector.

Kelly Butler, marketing director of the British Electrotechnical Appliances Manufacturers' Association will expand on the prices, security and sustainability of Europe's energy supply and examine the questions about future changes in the mix.

Yvonne Orgill, managing director of the Bathroom Manufacturers' Association will discuss product labelling greywater recycling and how manufacturers are responding to changing consumer preferences and growing government legislation.

David Moody, European Building distribution Consultant will speak on the threats and opportunities of 'pod' bathrooms and off-site/factory-built construction practices.

Richard Hytner, a partner of Saatchi & Saatchi will offer his views on brands and how merchants and distributors can tap into a new type of customer experience.
