LONDON: Life size cardboard cut-outs of TV gardening celebrity Alan Titchmarsh have been a huge hit at B&Q.

The DIY chain has been swamped with fans wanting their photograph taken next to the in-store promotional material. The biggest rush is reported to be on pensioner discount day.

After a spate of thefts of promotional materials, B&Q printed copies of the cut-out to give away, with 100 requested so far. Mr Titchmarsh is reported to be "flattered, if a little baffled" by the huge interest in his photographs.
