BRACKNELL: Four colleagues from the Bracknell branch of Wickes walked the 13 miles to Farnborough to raise money Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research.

Laura Simmonds, a senior cashier was joined by Zoe Hicks, the store's administration manager, Nickie Bancroft, a shop floor assistant, and Max Goodison, one of the store's showroom assistants, for the walk, which took four hours.

Ms Simmonds, who co-ordinates all the charity events at the Bracknell store, said: "We didn't do any training but we are all reasonably fit so hoped to finish under the three hour mark and raise approximately £300 in the process.

"It took a bit longer than we thought but it looks like we are going to hit our £300 target."

The walk was part of an epic 341-mile relay trek from Preston in Lancashire to Havant in Hampshire during June to raise money for the DIY company's national charity partner.

Since 2006, Wickes has raised almost £1 million for Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research.
