LONDON: The Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) has announced a new agreement with ConstructionSkills that recognises a series of NVQ’s for access to membership.

The agreement between ConstructionSkills and the CIOB covers a range of both existing National Qualification Framework (NQF) NVQ qualifications, and also the upcoming Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF) competence qualifications with NVQ in the title.

Bridget Boreham, the CIOB’s chief operating officer, said: “We are delighted to continue our work with Cskills Awards who deliver quality qualifications. This agreement gives greater access and opportunity to a range of people who are eager to pursue a professional career in construction.

“The value of professional qualifications is especially noticeable in a recession. In tough marketplaces like construction, employers are asking for the very best candidates that can show they are qualified and competent by today’s standards. That is just one reason why our professional qualification is so highly sought after.”
