GOSPORT: Covers Timber and Builders Merchants is contributing to reducing its carbon footprint by investing in three Ford Focus ECOnectics cars.

These economical cars have some of lowest CO2 emissions currently available with 99G/KM and a zero road tax bracket. The cars will be driven by three of Covers long serving sales representatives, Lee Archdale, Andy Saigeman and Peter Elliott.

Mr Archdale said: "To have a new car is one thing, but to know that I am helping combat climate change at the same time is an added bonus!"

The new cars are just a small part of Covers' environmental plans. Other measures already taken include producing its own domestic hot water using solar panels, a successful waste management programme and investing heavily into an Eco Centre at its Chichester depot three years ago.
