LONDON: Regular sponsors to the annual Brick Awards, Ibstock, Wienerberger, Hanson and Wincanton have been joined this year by Visqueen Building Products, Ancon and the Modern Masonry Alliance, in what promises to be one of the most successful events in the Awards history.
The Awards, organised by the Brick Development Association (BDA), first took place in 1977 and rely heavily upon the support it receives from its sponsors.
Katherina Lewis, marketing manager commented: “It’s a well known fact that the construction industry has suffered badly due to the economic recession, so the BDA is delighted with the support we have received this year from our existing and new sponsors”.
The Awards are one of the top design and construction awards in the country – and the definitive showcase for what clay brick can do. There are 14 awards split into three categories: housing, building and landscape, and technical and craft. There is also the Supreme Award – the Brick Development Association Building of the Year, judged to be the best overall project from the 15 award winners.
