BRAINTREE: Wickes opened a store on Century Drive, Braintree on Saturday.
The new store is on the former SGT builder merchants' site, which has lain derelict for the past four years. The 4000sqft store has a similar size outdoor project section.
Store manager James Degiorgio, said: "We have already received a number of positive comments from local people who are pleased to see the site put to good use – in particular, local tradesmen are happy to have somewhere local to buy their materials."
