COVENTRY: Jewson has upgraded its alarm signalling system. So far it has upgraded 65 of its 500 branches in the UK using Chiron's Iris Touch technology.

SSS Management Services is handling the upgrade programme.

David Clark, Jewson's business controls and procedures manager, said the upgrade will help the company maintain high levels of security and take advantage of new monitoring capabilities in the future. "We have very specific requirements and in each case we have been able to switch to the Iris system easily, and without disruption - and the benefits are immediate."

Vikram Datar, Chiron's regional manager for Northern Europe, said that Jewson's move reflected a steady switch to more flexible, multi-path alarm monitoring in the UK and internationally. "All users benefit but the cost savings are especially significant for users with multiple branches to protect," he said.
