LONDON: The Government will launch the Renewable Heat Incentive in June 2011.

Funding over the Spending Review period will be provided from Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) budget and not through the levy on energy companies as originally planned by the previous Government.

Details of the scheme, other than the official launch date, have been put back to June 2011 and have yet to be announced. But, heat pump suppliers are hopeful of an announcement by the end of November 2010.

Doubt over scheme funding has undermined consumer and business confidence in heat pumps.
