LONDON: Daikin announced its intention to take its Altherma heat pumps mainstream with merchants a part of its route to market.

The company plans to roll out the 'Make the Connection' campaign to merchants with comprehensive training for both merchants and installers to ensure proper use and installation of its products.

The consumer-focused 'Make the Connection' campaign will run until February 2011. "People are starting to have a basic understanding of renewables," marketing manager Milena Cox commented. "But people don't really understand how to integrate these systems into their home. The Make the Connection campaign is about raising awareness and educating the market."

The announcement comes alongside the launch of several new products in the Altherma range, including the Mini-Monobloc addition to its Monobloc range, designed for where space is at a premium; the flex-type heat pump which is aimed at apartment buildings and community heating; the GasSolarUnit which combines heating and hot water supported by solar from unit; a new hydrobox and underfloor heating.
