KENT: It’s a case of ‘here we grow again’ as Parker Building Supplies' new branch in Tonbridge is poised to throw open its doors for business on Sunday.
It is the merchant’s 11th outlet, and, according to financial director Stewart Pierce, represents an entirely new direction for the Sussex and Kent-based company.
For the first time, the company has 'high street' presence with its stylishly appointed kitchen, bathroom and joinery showroom and studio.
The prominent retail unit, situated on the corner of the High Street and Lyons Crescent, directly opposite the historic Tonbridge Castle, will enable Parker to further expand its retail offering and display its most popular end-user ranges under one roof.
“Up to now the our kitchens, joinery and the new bathrooms brands have been sited in separate trading estate units,” said Mr Pierce.
“The spacious 3000sq ft showroom will allow us to promote our more usually trade-oriented timber, heavyside and landscaping products to a much broader customer base. The aim is to offer tradesmen, self-builders and DIY enthusiasts alike a comprehensive choice of building products and the quality of service for which our company is renowned.”
Managing the operation is Matt Hollamby, supported by kitchen and bathroom designers Stephanie Goodfellow and Amy Lee, whose mission is to provide customers with high end ranges at trade prices.
The showroom features displays from Parker Kitchens' boutique ranges, which include a choice of 120 door styles, 52 carcass options and 200 worktops styles.
The official opening of the branch on Sunday 28 November coincides with Tonbridge Christmas Festival Day where the evening fireworks display is this year being sponsored by Parker Building Supplies.
Parkers scooped the Best Website category at this year’s Builders’ Merchants Awards for Excellence.
