LONDON: Ian Cheshire, Kingfisher's chief executive is to inject commercial knowledge into government decision- making.
Mr Cheshire is the latest 'big name' to be appointed by Lord Browne as senior non-executive on Whitehall boards.
The first 15 senior non-executives were meant to have been unveiled by the Cabinet Office in November, but deadlines slipped as the Government struggled to bring all parties on board.
