READING: Davidson Holdings (DHL) has announced its acquisition of the Thermostatic Fire Valve (TFV) product range from FEL Valves.

The TFV is a range of brass safety valves which shut off the fuel supply to oil or kerosene powered boilers, range cookers and other domestic appliances in the event of overheating within the premises. The TFV meets BS5410: pt 1 and OFTEC OFS E101 standards.

The TFV business will complement DHL's existing UK businesses:

  • Cistermiser hands-free washroom solutions
  • Keraflo delayed action float valves
  • Salamander shower and whole house booster pumps

Manufacture of the TFV will be moved to the Keraflo site in the immediate future.

TFV has the potential to be the brand leader in this niche market. Its routes to market are similar to those of the other DHL businesses.

The acquisition was financed from the group's existing resources and DHL has said that it has more funds available and is actively considering further significant acquisitions in the building products industry.
