HULL: David Kilburn of MKM Building Supplies is one of the leading figures in a group called 'For Entrepreneurs Only' launched this week.
It evolved from a discussion between Mr Kilburn, Paul Sewell of Sewell Group and Andrew Horncastle of Horncastle Group to use their skills to strengthen the local economy by motivating and supporting others to grow and develop their own successful ventures.
Mr Kilburn said: "What we have is a group of people that are serious about informing new business start-ups and helping people to grow existing businesses. There are serious issues with regards to the local economy and job prospects and this is going to have huge implications for the future, unless we take action now.
"The only way to solve it is to create jobs, and that is what we will be working to achieve.
The group now comprises more than 70 local business figures. It is not a lobby or formal networking group, but an active collective of people who will use their skills, experience and acumen to make a tangible difference to the region's economy.
