MANCHESTER: Volunteers from specialist equipment rental firm Hewden and homeless charity Barnabus joined forces to host a Christmas Dinner Day for around 100 people living on the streets.

The special day took place at Kings Church in Hulme, Manchester and saw more than a dozen volunteers from Hewden and the wider community serve up a festive feast, provide live music and entertainment, and hand out presents kindly donated through the Barnabus charity.

Carol Price of Barnabus said: "For most of us, Christmas is a magical time of year. However, for those without a home it can also be very lonely. Thanks to the enormous generosity of those involved, we have been able to bring some Christmas spirit to those less fortunate as we continue to help them back into mainstream society.”
