BURY ST EDMUNDS: A B&Q member of staff appeared in court to admit stealing money.

Shaun Ladd, 18, stole the money over a seven month period by making out customer refunds to himself, magistrates heard. He was caught after B&Q called in a fraud investigator.

Proscecutor Kevin Lowson said "he done it to pay off debts and he had no intention of paying back the money".

Ladd, of Thomas Close, Ixworth, pleaded guilty to theft when he appeared before Bury magistrates on Thursday. However, he said he stole £600, while B&Q said the value was £3,000. A separate hearing will now take place to determine the amount of money that was taken.
